• Make sure that you upload the solution file before due date. No
assignment will be accepted through e-mail after the due date.
• File once uploaded will not be replaced under any condition so you
should upload the correct file in first go.
Formatting guidelines
• Use the font style “Times New Roman” and font size “12”.
• Compose your document in MS-Office 2003. Any file created in any
other version will not be accepted and marked zero. You can also
convert Assignment file created in Ms-Word 2007 to MsWord-2003 by
using “Save As” function.
• Use black and blue font colors only.
Solution guidelines
• The student will work individually and has to write in the form of
an analytical assignment.
• Give the answer according to question, there will be negative marking
for irrelevant material.
• Mention the source (bibliography) which you are using for preparing
your assignment.
• Support your solution with complete working/calculations/ diagram
where necessary. Marks will be deducted if complete
working/calculations/diagram is not shown.
Please note that your assignment will not be graded if:
• It is submitted after due date
• The file you uploaded does not open
• Cheating or copying of assignment is strictly prohibited. The cheated
or copied assignment will be marked as Zero.

a. Find the expected return on each investment.

b. Calculate the standard deviation of each investment. And interpret

c. Suppose Aslam has the utility function U=3I, where I denotes the
payoff. Now calculate expected utility from each investment and
interpret which investment he would prefer?
(Marks: 1.5+1.5+1)
